Anti-Spam

Introduction

Confronting Code is committed to maintaining the integrity of communication channels and ensuring that our users are protected from unwanted and unsolicited messages. This Anti-Spam Policy outlines our approach to preventing spam and sets guidelines for acceptable communication practices.

Definition of Spam

Spam is defined as any unsolicited, irrelevant, or inappropriate message sent electronically, including but not limited to email, text messages, instant messages, and social media messages. It often involves the transmission of commercial advertising, promotional materials, or other forms of content to recipients who have not explicitly consented to receive such communications.

Prohibited Activities

The following activities are strictly prohibited and constitute spamming:

  • Sending unsolicited messages to individuals or groups who have not opted in to receive communications from our organisation.
  • Harvesting email addresses or contact information from websites, social media platforms, or any other online sources for the purpose of sending unsolicited messages.
  • Using misleading or deceptive subject lines or headers to disguise the true nature of the message.
  • Falsifying sender information or using forged headers to obscure the origin of the message.
  • Sending messages that contain malicious content, such as viruses, malware, or phishing attempts.
  • Engaging in any form of bulk messaging or mass emailing without proper consent from recipients.

Consent

Confronting Code respects the principles of consent and permission-based marketing. We will only send communications to individuals who have explicitly opted in to receive messages from us. Consent must be obtained in a clear and transparent manner, and recipients should be provided with the option to unsubscribe or opt out of future communications at any time.

Enforcement

Violations of this Anti-Spam Policy will result in appropriate disciplinary action, which may include but is not limited to:

  • Suspension or termination of user(s) accounts or access to communication platforms.
  • Legal action in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Reputational damage to individuals or organisations found to be engaging in spamming activities.

Reporting Spam

Users who receive unsolicited messages that they believe violate this policy are encouraged to report them to Confronting Code’s designated spam reporting channel. We will investigate all reports promptly and take appropriate action to address any confirmed violations.

Compliance

All employees, contractors, and affiliates of Confronting Code are expected to comply with this Anti-Spam Policy at all times. Failure to do so may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment or contractual relationships.

Review and Updates

This Anti-Spam Policy will be reviewed periodically to ensure its effectiveness and compliance with evolving best practices and regulatory requirements. Amendments or updates to the policy will be communicated to relevant stakeholders as necessary.
